Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Technician to join our team at our Plymouth facility.
This is a hands-on role supporting the transition from prototype development into early-stage manufacturing of our innovative low-floor bus platform. The Electrical Technician will be responsible for installing, routing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting vehicle electrical systems, wiring harnesses, lighting, power distribution, and other electrical components while working closely with the engineering team to ensure safe, reliable, and high-quality vehicle builds.
We are open to training candidates who have a strong electrical aptitude and a willingness to learn automotive electrical systems. This position is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in commercial vehicle manufacturing, automotive electrical assembly, or specialty vehicle integration.
Success in this role means completing electrical installations safely, accurately, and in accordance with engineering drawings, wiring schematics, quality standards, and established manufacturing processes while contributing to the continuous improvement of our production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and route vehicle wiring harnesses, electrical cables, connectors, and protective conduit according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Assemble and install electrical components including lighting systems, switches, relays, fuse panels, circuit breakers, power distribution units, and control modules.
- Perform electrical termination, crimping, connector assembly, and cable management following automotive quality standards.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly documentation to complete installations accurately.
- Test electrical circuits and other diagnostic equipment to verify continuity, voltage, and system functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during vehicle assembly with support from the engineering team.
- Ensure proper labeling, routing, and securing of wiring harnesses to meet safety and quality requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment while following electrical safety procedures.
- Support continuous improvement of electrical assembly processes as production volumes increase.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in electrical assembly, wiring, or automotive electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Experience using electrical hand tools, crimping tools, wire strippers, and basic diagnostic equipment.
- Understanding of electrical systems, electrical safety practices, and wiring standards.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve wiring or electrical issues.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a manufacturing/assembly environment.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
Desired Skills
- Ability to perform accurate wire routing and harness installation with a high level of workmanship.
- Familiarity with crimp quality standards and connector assembly.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical faults independently.
- Good communication skills and willingness to work closely with engineering during prototype and production builds.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commercial vehicles, buses, vans, RVs, or specialty vehicle upfitting.
- Familiarity with 12V/24V DC automotive electrical systems.
- Experience installing lighting, HVAC electrical components, ECU, wheelchair ramps, cameras, battery systems, or other vehicle accessories.
- Knowledge of CAN Bus systems and basic electrical diagnostics.
- Automotive electrical certification or vocational training.
- Experience with wire harness manufacturing or custom electrical installations.
