Job Summary
The Photographer / E-Commerce Photo Editor is a dual-function role within Umgee’s / Mohme's Studio and Web team — the creative engine behind all of our brand imagery. In this position, you will both capture and refine the visual content that brings our women’s apparel to life across e-commerce platforms, tradeshows, and social media.
You will lead and assist on scheduled half-day and full-day photo shoots, then take those images through a polished post-production workflow: color correcting, retouching, cropping, and resizing to meet the visual standards our customers expect. You must have a sharp eye for detail, a strong sense of brand direction, and the ability to embody the Umgee/ Mohme aesthetic from behind the camera to the final exported file.
Experience in e-commerce photography and post production work for athleisure brands is preferred.
Responsibilities
Photography
- Conduct and assist with scheduled half-day and full-day photo shoots for models and products
- Produce high-quality digital images optimized for e-commerce, tradeshow, and social media use
- Manage lighting setups, styling, and sample preparation before and during shoots
- Ensure high technical quality and consistent aesthetic across all images captured
- Organize and transfer photographs promptly after each shoot
- Propose and recommend creative ideas to exceed Visual Marketing goals and objectives
Photo Editing & Post-Production
- Edit, retouch, and adjust all images post-shoot including color correction, cropping, and resizing
- Ensure each style’s color accuracy and detail integrity meet Umgee/Mohme brand standards
- Deliver polished, print- and web-ready assets on schedule
- Maintain organized digital asset libraries and file-naming conventions
Studio & Team Support
- Maintain a clean, organized studio with props and equipment properly stored and accessible
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments and work effectively with models
- Adapt quickly to changing shoot schedules and evolving creative direction
Key Qualifications
Photography Skills
- Hands-on experience with DSLR cameras and professional studio lighting equipment
- Ability to independently lead shoots
- Strong understanding of composition, exposure, and brand-aligned aesthetics
Editing & Software
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Photoshop; experience with the full Adobe Creative Suite required
- Skilled in color correcting, retouching, and image optimization for digital platforms
- Proficient with macOS and Windows; comfortable with Microsoft Office and related programs
Professional Qualities
- Extremely organized with strong time management — able to complete shoots and edits on deadline
- High attention to detail and a self-motivated, team-first attitude
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Passionate about fashion, particularly women’s apparel, with the ability to quickly absorb new trends
- Professional demeanor at all times; able to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Education & Experience
- Associate’s degree (or higher) in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field highly preferred; equivalent professional experience considered
- Minimum 2 years of studio photography or freelance photography experience required
- Minimum 1–2 years of professional photo editing experience required
- Portfolio demonstrating both photography and retouching work strongly preferred
