Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Driver to join our transportation team. Responsibilities
- Safely operate freight trucks in accordance with traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, mechanical soundness, and readiness for operation.
- Respond quickly and appropriately to traffic changes, road conditions, and emergency situations using defensive driving techniques.
- Follow all emergency response procedures for transportation incidents
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance needs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, passengers, and team members to coordinate schedules and address any issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the vehicle type operated.
- Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and safety regulations related to commercial driving.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle inspections and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for loading or securing cargo or equipment.
- Familiarity with emergency stop procedures, behavior management techniques, and school policy knowledge if involved in school transportation.
- Demonstrated defensive driving skills and quick response capabilities to traffic changes or hazards.
