Cleveland-area HVAC/Mechanical contractor is seeking a full-time Project Manager & Estimator with experience in the commercial construction industry. This individual will be responsible for estimating, bidding, and managing commercial HVAC/mechanical projects from preconstruction through closeout. Previous experience in HVAC project management and estimating is strongly preferred.
Job Responsibilities
- Review and interpret project documents, specifications, and drawings
- Prepare detailed HVAC estimates including labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations
- Attend pre-bid meetings, project meetings, and serve as a client contact
- Prepare proposals, budgets, and bid packages
- Prepare and manage change orders
- Understand and administer contracts
- Procure and organize materials and equipment
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors
- Generate accurate labor and material cost analyses
- Manage multiple projects while meeting strict deadlines
- Support and coordinate with Field Superintendents
- Interface with internal construction teams and CAD/detailing staff
- Maintain project documentation and support Change Order Requests
- Ensure jobsite safety standards and company policies are followed
Qualifications
- HVAC and/or mechanical construction experience required
- Experience estimating and managing large commercial HVAC/mechanical projects including schools, hospitals, hotels, industrial facilities, and similar projects
- Strong understanding of the estimating and project management process from start to finish
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, piping systems, and applicable mechanical codes preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Construction Technology, or related field is a plus
Computer Skills
Candidates should be proficient in:
- Microsoft Office
- Procore
- Bluebeam
- PlanGrid
- Estimating software experience preferred
