Being a Security Officer for the Missouri National Guard is very rewarding because we are "One Team.” These specialized security positions provide protection for the employees and equipment of the Missouri National Guard ISTS facility.
Responsibilities - What you’ll do
Provide security and protection to aircraft, equipment, and personnel. Protection of military resources located at your assigned base to include buildings and grounds.
Observes activities of base personnel, civilian staff, and the general public. Conducts searches of persons and property within jurisdictional limitations and contact police when necessary.
Essential Job Functions:
Drag, carry, lift, and/or pull a person to safety
Use physical force to detain a subject or prevent unauthorized entry
Prolonged standing and/or sustained patrol on foot or in a vehicle
Sustained pursuit of a suspect on foot
Dodging, crawling, climbing, and/or rapid ascent of stairs
Perform the above wearing duty equipment and/or personal protective equipment under adverse environmental conditions.
Pass an annual physical ability test consisting of a 1.5 mile run in 17:30 and 19 push-ups in 2 minutes
Ability to successfully complete expandable baton and OC spray certification courses
This position will be required to have availability for all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications - All you need for success
Minimum Qualifications:
High School education required
Valid Motor Vehicle license
Ability to pass initial background investigations and acquire and maintain a T3/Secret clearance eligibility
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical ability test consisting of a 1.5 mile run in 17:30 and 19 push-ups in 2 minutes
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
Preferred Qualifications:
Military or law enforcement experience
Ability to assess information and take corrective action
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written form.
Computer proficiency with experience working with Microsoft Office programs
Lack of post‐secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
