Cardinal Home Center has an immediate need for a qualified Sales Associate to join our Madison sales team. The Sales Associate provides high-level customer service in order to sell products and promote the Cardinal brand. The Sales Associate processes transactions at the sales counter for both in-store and phone-in customers via the Spruce POS system and answers customer questions and assists customers with purchases, as needed.
Responsibilities

Sell products and services utilizing appropriate knowledge, techniques and expertise.

Assist in-store customers by answering their questions and processing their payments.

Assist phone-in customers by answering their questions and processing their payments.

Provide quotes to customers for materials and/or services and follow up as necessary to complete transactions.

Assist web (on-line) customers by contacting them in a timely manner and answering their questions, placing orders and processing payment.

Assist e-commerce customers by contacting them according to established SOP and providing Sales support.

Assist customers by escorting them to the appropriate products within the store.

Place custom orders for windows, doors, and other materials as directed by store manager or assistant manager.

Follow Special Order SOP in order to process appropriately.

Track customer orders to ensure products are picked up according to established timeline.

Process returns and refunds per company policy.

Utilize suggestive selling techniques to achieve appropriate customer satisfaction and business improvement.

Communicate with Yard, Sales Floor, Paint, and Corporate personnel as necessary in order to maintain positive customer experience and relations.

Utilize the Spruce system to view inventory and process transactions.

Maintain customer contact for open orders until the order is processed or closed.

Follow all other SOPs and guidelines pertaining to discounts and other related job functions, as directed by the Store Manager or Assistant Manager.

Attend supplier learning courses, plant tours and sales meetings on occasion to increase product knowledge.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Must be safety conscious and this must be shown on the job.

Must work closely with the yard on customer orders and feedback.

Must be willing to work flexible hours including Saturdays as needed.
Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.
