Under the supervision of the Director of The Learning Center, working as an integral part of the tutoring team, provides operational support for TLC and testing, provides tutoring services to students, assists the director in supervising part-time temporary staff, works with faculty to coordinate activities with program and curricular needs, and provides training to students using available learning systems.
Assists the Director with daily operational support for TLC and Testing center, to include planning and marketing efforts. When Director is unavailable, Assistant Director makes managerial decisions as needed.
Manages tutors, to include interviewing, selecting training, and setting rate of pay and hours of work in conjunction with director.
Provides tutoring support in Mathematics or other high need subject.
Works with academic faculty to develop, enhance, and implement learning resources for use in TLC to promote student success and retention.
Works closely with testing center assistant director, staff and academic faculty to develop and maintain best practices for collegial testing environments.
Experience in teaching/tutoring as well as working knowledge of teaching best practices.
Travel and work may be required at other campuses. Occasional night and/or weekend hours may be required for scheduled events.
