Job Title: Change Management Specialist – Banking Transformation
Location: Newport News, VA (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week)
About the Role
Rockwoods is seeking a Change Management Specialist to support transformation initiatives across branch operations and banking services. This role is critical in ensuring smooth adoption of new processes, systems, and compliance workflows. Working closely with program leadership, the specialist will design and execute change strategies that empower front-line staff, strengthen customer experience, and maintain regulatory alignment.
Key Responsibilities
Branch Transformation: Lead change management efforts for new banking processes, digital platforms, and compliance workflows across branch operations.
Training & Enablement: Develop and deliver training programs, job aids, and reference guides to help branch staff and managers adapt to new systems.
Impact Assessment: Evaluate readiness and adoption risks across teams; design mitigation strategies to ensure smooth transitions.
Stakeholder Alignment: Partner with branch operations, HR, IT, and compliance teams to synchronize messaging, timelines, and rollout plans.
Communication Strategy: Build and manage communication plans to keep employees, leadership, and customers informed throughout transformation.
Feedback & Refinement: Gather input from front-line staff to continuously improve training and change approaches.
Progress Tracking: Monitor adoption metrics, report progress to program leadership, and adjust strategies to maximize success.
Governance Support: Contribute to compliance documentation, governance materials, and regulatory reporting as part of transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in change management, training, or organizational development within banking, financial services, or other regulated industries.
Strong facilitation and communication skills; able to present effectively to branch staff and senior leadership.
Ability to translate complex banking processes or system changes into clear, actionable training materials.
Familiarity with change management frameworks (e.g., Prosci/ADKAR) is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously.
