The Special Education Teacher in the Mobile Classroom plans and provides engaging educational experiences for children enrolled in the Mobile Classroom while encouraging meaningful parent participation throughout each session. This position oversees the daily operation of the Mobile Classroom, including classroom instruction, curriculum implementation, enrollment coordination, and volunteer supervision.
As a member of the Programs Training team, the Lead Teacher collaborates with the transdisciplinary team to support curriculum development, staff and community training, educational content creation, and the continued growth of Little Light House programs.
The Mobile Classroom Lead Teacher understands and embraces that they are part of Little Light House, a Christian ministry with Biblical core values whose mission is to glorify God by improving the quality of life for children with special needs, their families, and communities.

Plan and lead engaging classroom experiences using a Bible-based curriculum.

Create a welcoming classroom environment that supports learning, therapy, and parent participation.

Adapt lessons and activities to meet each child's individual needs.

Collaborate with therapists to provide a transdisciplinary approach to learning and development.

Coach and encourage parents during classroom sessions to support learning at home.

Manage classroom routines, materials, and daily operations.

Coordinate student enrollment through Brightwheel and communicate with families regarding enrollment requirements.

Communicate regularly with families through Brightwheel regarding classroom updates, student progress, and upcoming activities.

Supervise and direct classroom volunteers.

Consult with the transdisciplinary team regarding behavioral or developmental concerns and implement appropriate classroom supports.

Report incidents promptly and complete required documentation.

Assist with developing and improving curriculum, lesson plans, and classroom resources.

Adapt curriculum to meet the needs of the Mobile Classroom while maintaining Little Light House educational standards.

Support the development of new educational programs and learning resources.

Assist in developing LLH Academy courses and other educational content.

Provide training for staff, volunteers, churches, schools, and community organizations as requested.

Contribute to educational materials, presentations, and family resources.

Represent Little Light House at workshops, conferences, and community events.

Work collaboratively as a member of the transdisciplinary team.

Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and strong organizational skills.

Reports to the Sr. Director of Programs Training.

Works under the guidance of the Director of Curriculum Instruction.

Provides day-to-day supervision and direction for Mobile Classroom volunteers.

Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate.

Oklahoma Special Education Certification.

At least one year of experience working with young children with developmental disabilities or special needs (birth through age six preferred).

Experience working with children with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Demonstrates a neuro-affirming, child-centered approach to teaching.

Current CPR certification.

Current on required continuing education and committed to ongoing professional development.

Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate the Mobile Classroom vehicle and trailer.

Strong classroom management, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a transdisciplinary team.

Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.

Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for trainings and special events.
