JOB Under general supervision of the Parks Crew Leader, work performed in
executing multiple types of maintenance, custodial, and construction tasks.
The employee will operate light duty vehicle up to 2 1/2 ton truck, tractors, riding, push
or pull mowers, weed eater, chain saws, rakes, shovels, etc. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of ball fields, buildings, playgrounds,
shelters, and other park facilities; assisting in the maintenance and construction of roads,
bridges, shelters, buildings, street lighting, trails, fences, irrigation systems, etc.;
responsible for mowing and trimming grass on Park property; responsible for operating a
variety of equipment and tools in the performance of assigned tasks (i.e. farm tractors,
commercial mowers and weed eaters, jack hammer, road liner, floor buffing and stripping
machines, wood working tools, cutting torch, welder, etc); responsible for picking up litter
and emptying trash cans in the parks.
Making and installing signs for streets and park areas; perform maintenance on equipment, tools, and vehicles; performing maintenance on the swimming pool and tennis courts; planting trees, flowers, and shrubs; painting buildings and signs; perform related tasks as required. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside
weather conditions regardless of weather conditions. The employee is often exposed to
wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, loud noise, dirt, foul
odors and occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee must
frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift weights up to 100
pounds.
