Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting medical staff and ensuring the smooth operation of clinical activities. This position requires a strong understanding of medical procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Clinical Assistant will assist with patient care, administrative tasks, and contribute to maintaining high standards of patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
- Medical records: Recording patient medical histories, updating medical records, and entering information into computerized medical records.
- Documentation: Completing clinical assistant documentation in the electronic medical record if needed.
- Communication: Sharing sensitive information with patients and serving as a liaison between patients and the doctor.
- Customer service: Providing high-quality customer service to patients.
- Assist patients with questions, post-op care and follow-ups.
- Assist patients with eye drops prescriptions and refills.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Explain procedures, medications, or physicians' instructions to patients.
Skills/ Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.
- Experience in a clinical setting is preferred
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Adherence to HIPAA laws and guidelines.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
