Job Overview
The QC Inspector is responsible for performing and documenting various inspections of machined and fabricated metal products to ensure quality standards and customer requirements are met. The QC Inspector may also perform other tasks as needed to support quality control and quality assurance initiatives.
Duties
- Conduct thorough quality inspections of machined and fabricated metal components using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges to verify product dimensions and specifications.
- Collect and analyze data related to product quality, documenting findings accurately for traceability and reporting purposes.
- Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, API Q1, and company-specific quality management systems during all inspection activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing insights and contributing to the development of quality systems.
Skills and Competencies
- Must be able to accurately interpret engineering blueprints, data sheets, and other technical documents related to fabrication and inspection.
- Must be proficient with testing and measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask effectively.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and to lift and move parts weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to work independently and perform inspections with little to no supervision
- Preference for knowledge and experience in weld inspection tools, processes, and codes
Qualifications
- Must be eligible to legally work in the US
- Must have earned a high school diploma or GED
- Must have at least 5 years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment.
- Welding and/or welding inspection background with working knowledge of industry standards such as ISO 9001, API Q1, AWS D1.1, and ASME Sec. IX highly desirable.
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
