Job Overview
Growing Ophthalmology practice looking for a qualified clinical administrator to oversee the daily operations of our clinic. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of healthcare management, ensuring that our clinic runs efficiently as the Medical Director's right-hand person while providing exceptional patient care. This role requires a proactive approach to office management, human resources and fiscal management within a medical clinic setting.
You should demonstrate excellent organizational skills, superior multi-tasking capabilities and previous customer service experience; previous ophthalmic front office experience preferred. Ensuring steady workflows and uninterrupted service in day-to-day operations of the clinic are key to this role. Sensitivity to patient issues is a must as patient issues that cannot be addressed by the front desk receptionist will be the Clinical Admin's responsibility. At least 2 years experience in some medical office setting and knowledge of working within Tebra/Kareo is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily office operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
- Oversee clinic scheduling and surgical calendar to maintain staff utilization & clinic flow.
- Manage surgical coordination for the Medical Director.
- Manage medical and financial records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist in human resources functions, including onboarding of new staff.
- Supervise office staff and coordinate schedules to optimize workflow.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Oversee facilities management and maintain clinical decorum
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical management principles.
- Proficient in financial management practices related to healthcare.
- Experience in human resources functions, including employee relations.
- Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Knowledge in ophthalmology terms & services.
- Demonstrating understanding of patient needs.
- Experience using Kareo is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to problem solve and run day-to-day operations for practice management.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
