Job Summary
The Sales & Operations Specialist is responsible for managing daily yard operations including customer service, parts sales, cash and scale transactions, and inventory accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide exceptional service at point of sale and during inquiries
- Handle cash, credit card, and scale transactions with accuracy and integrity
- Weigh incoming and outgoing materials including scrap, vehicles, and parts; provide correct pricing
- Accurately complete and maintain financial and inventory records
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding parts availability, pricing and compatibility
- Maintain and update pricing as direct by the Sales Director
- Collaborate with the yard team to ensure inventory accuracy and effective workflow
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
- Foster positive relationships with customers and vendors to support repeat business
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding salvage operations
- Perform related duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Basic math proficiency
- Good computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook) Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
