Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our team and drive the success of our electrical construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing construction drawings, and collaborating with project teams to ensure bids are competitive and profitable. Your expertise in electrical systems, codes, and construction management will be essential in delivering high-quality results that meet client expectations and adhere to industry standards. Responsibilities
- Review and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to develop precise estimates.
- Prepare detailed cost proposals by analyzing labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor quotes.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to compile comprehensive bid packages.
- Conduct thorough reviews of electrical building codes, NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70 compliance standards, and other relevant regulations to ensure estimates meet all legal requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors through negotiation to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
- Manage project budgets by estimating costs accurately and implementing effective cost control strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in reviewing construction contracts, scope of work documents, and change orders to maintain budget integrity and project timelines.
Skills
- Proficiency in construction estimating software including HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and electrical building codes.
- Experience with NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70 standards, and other relevant safety regulations.
- Excellent negotiation skills for pricing discussions with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ability to review construction drawings critically for accuracy and completeness.
- Solid understanding of cost management principles, including cost control and estimating construction project budgets.
- Construction site experience combined with construction management knowledge for practical insight into project execution.
- Familiarity with contracts, project management processes, and construction law principles related to electrical projects.
