Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly, present menus, and provide detailed descriptions of food and beverage options to enhance their dining experience
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely processing of sales transactions
- Serve food and beverages efficiently, including cocktails, spirits, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks, maintaining proper presentation and quality standards
- Upsell menu items to increase sales while ensuring guest satisfaction by recommending popular or specialty items like fine wines or signature cocktails
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately, including processing payments and giving correct change
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to food safety protocols
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and address any guest concerns promptly
Qualifications
- Previous food service experience in a restaurant setting, preferably with fine dining or upscale establishments
- Knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Basic math skills for processing transactions accurately and managing cash handling responsibilities
- Culinary experience or food preparation knowledge is advantageous
- Familiarity with wine knowledge, spirits, cocktail mixing, and beverage service techniques
- Commitment to food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment
