Responsibilities

- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients for various menu items.
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas by adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures and proper waste disposal practices.
- Support food handling and storage procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations and prevent cross-contamination.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including fryers, grills, and other cooking appliances, while following safety protocols.
- Assist with dishwashing duties by cleaning cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools efficiently to support smooth kitchen flow.
- Follow menu planning guidelines when preparing ingredients for meal service, ensuring timely delivery during high-volume periods.
- Support the culinary team in food production tasks such as braising, poaching, grilling, and other cooking techniques as needed.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by serving colleagues with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Work weekends and holidays as needed.
Experience
- Experience working in a restaurant or food service environment, especially in high-volume or fine dining settings.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures is essential.
- Proven skills in food preparation techniques including braising, poaching, grilling, and general cooking methods.
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various kitchen equipment are preferred.
- Experience with menu planning or catering services will be considered an asset.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
