Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and dependable Shop Helper to join our manufacturing team. In this dynamic role, you will support daily operations within the factory environment by assisting with assembly, material handling, and equipment setup. Your enthusiasm and attention to safety will contribute to a productive and efficient workspace. Duties
- $18.00 - $23.00 per hour (based on experience) OT/TH after 40 hours worked.
- Have maintenance ability or "handy man" capabilities. Do not need to be a mechanic.
- Assist with the assembly of components using hand tools, power tools, and some mechanical knowledge
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely to move materials and supplies
- Interpret technical documents, fuel tank structure or fuel filter components and work instructions accurately
- Parts inventory and shelf stocking.
- Clean trucks and trailers.
- Oil Changes & minor repairs to company vehicles.
- Support heavy lifting tasks and manual handling of materials in accordance with safety protocols
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, adhering to safety standards OSHAS & Company safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members & company mangers on truck and building repairs.
- You will also fix and repair fuel tank that are located at JT Barrier's Customers locations.
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts and familiarity with warehouse environments
- Strong understanding of factory or manufacturing facility procedures
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, production documents, and use measuring instruments effectively
- Mechanical knowledge related to assembly line processes and mechanical assembly techniques
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices for precise work
- Experience with manufacturing management practices and process improvement strategies
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments, including manual handling and heavy lifting protocols
- Excellent communication skills for interpreting technical instructions and collaborating with team members
- Ability to adapt quickly to new tasks, prioritize workload, and maintain a high level of safety compliance
