Summary
The HR & Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting the administration of human resources programs, employee relations, workplace safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance for all employees. This position serves as a key point of contact for employees and management regarding attendance, personnel documentation, onboarding, training, safety reporting, and other employment-related matters.

Essential Functions
· Human Resources Functions
o Manage employee call-ins and call-offs.
o Track daily attendance, tardiness, and absences.
o Maintain records for vacation, sick leave, medical leave, and other time-off requests.
o Assist with employee leave paperwork and supporting documentation.
o Process new hires and terminations, including offer letters, drug screening appointments, and required paperwork.
o Assist with recruiting, job postings, applications, interviews, and candidate communication.
o Help coordinate new-hire orientation and employee training.
o Maintain employee personnel files, training records, and performance evaluations in the Company’s Quality Management System.
o Track employee evaluations and follow up with management as needed.
o Assist Managers and Cell Leaders with employee relations, performance concerns, and policy questions.
o Respond to employee questions and concerns while maintaining confidentiality.
o Assist with disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, investigations, and terminations.
o Calculate daily payroll hours and maintain the payroll tracking spreadsheet.
o Process payroll and make sure employee hours are accurate.
o Prepare employee and workforce reports for management.
o Track HR data, including hours, wages, attendance, turnover, and length of employment.
o Process child support orders, medical support orders, garnishments, and other required deductions.
o Oversee the Company’s Shared Work Program with the State of Missouri.
o Maintain employee confidentiality and follow record-retention requirements.
o Serve as a backup receptionist and provide general administrative support.
· Safety Functions
o Help maintain the Company’s workplace safety programs and procedures.
o Promote compliance with Company safety rules and OSHA requirements.
o Assist with workplace injury, incident, and near-miss reporting.
o Help investigate incidents and track corrective actions.
o Assist with workers’ compensation claims and required paperwork.
o Coordinate medical appointments and accompany employees when necessary.
o Maintain records for injuries, incidents, safety concerns, and workers’ compensation claims.
o Assist with safety inspections, audits, and hazard identification.
o Follow up on safety concerns to ensure corrective actions are completed.
o Coordinate employee safety training and refresher training.
o Maintain safety training records and certifications.
o Assist with safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee safety communications.
o Monitor the availability and use of required personal protective equipment.
o Assist with emergency procedures, evacuation plans, and safety drills.
o Maintain required safety logs, reports, and records.
o Maintain annual DOT requirements and records for Company drivers.
o Keep driver’s license and insurance information current for authorized drivers.
o Report safety concerns and trends to management.
o Perform other HR, safety, compliance, and administrative duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:
· Human resources, payroll, safety, or office experience is preferred but not required.
· Ability to use a computer and standard office equipment.
· Experience with E2 or a similar system is preferred.
· Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
· Ability to learn accounting software, Q-Pulse, websites, and other company programs.
· Ability to read and understand company procedures, legal documents, and government regulations.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
· Ability to use a multi-line phone system.
· Ability to understand and process basic information and data.
· Good organizational and time-management skills.
· Ability to keep employee and company information confidential.
