Trading Card Grader – Trading Card Company
Las Vegas, NV | 30–40 hrs/week | $15.00-$17.00/hour | In person
The role
We're an early-stage trading card grading company looking for a Trading Card Grader to evaluate cards and assign accurate condition grades. This is an apprentice-style role, perfect for someone who already knows cards and wants to turn that knowledge into a career. You'll learn our grading standards from the ground up, work alongside experienced graders, and grow with the company. If you light up when a vintage Charizard crosses your desk, can spot a soft corner from across the table, and want to spend your days hands-on with cards collectors care about, this is the job for you.
What you'll do
- Examine submitted cards under magnification and proper lighting to assess centering, corners, edges, and surface
- Assign condition grades (Gem Mint, Mint, Near Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Played, Heavy Played, etc.) using our grading standards
- Identify authenticity concerns, alterations, trimming, or restoration and flag suspect cards for senior review
- Document grading notes accurately so customers understand the call on their card
- Handle vintage, modern, TCG (Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh), and sports cards with care
- Meet daily throughput targets while maintaining grading accuracy
What we're looking for
- Strong working knowledge of trading cards across at least one major category (sports, Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, or similar)
- Familiarity with industry condition terminology (Gem Mint, Mint, NM, EX, VG, Played, HP) and what separates one grade from the next
- A sharp eye for detail. You can spot a print line, a whitened corner, or off-centering without being told what to look for
- Genuine enthusiasm for the hobby. We want someone who's excited to look at cool cards all day
- Steady, careful hands and the patience to give every card a fair look
- Prior experience grading, collecting seriously, working at a card shop, or breaking/selling cards is a strong plus
Compensation and schedule
- $15.00 per hour (apprentice-style role with room to grow as you develop)
- 30–40 hours per week
- On-site in Las Vegas, NV
- Opportunities for advancement into senior grader as the company grows
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Application Question(s):
- What's your background with grading trading cards?
- Walk us through how you'd evaluate a raw card someone hands you. What do you look at first, and what would drop a card from Gem Mint to Near Mint?
Work Location: In person
