Morrissey Hospitality is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee key accounting functions at The Saint Paul Hotel. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing day-to-day accounting responsibilities with financial analysis, process improvement, and collaboration across multiple teams.
In this role, you’ll oversee key accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, income audit, month-end close activities, forecasting, special projects, and general accounting support across the department.

Financial Operations

Monitor accounts receivable and intercompany rebills

Reconcile daily bank activity and general ledger accounts

Review account reconciliations completed by other team members

Prepare and distribute daily revenue reports
Financial Reporting & Analysis

Lead the month-end close process

Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting packets

Identify, research, and resolve financial variances and discrepancies

Partner with property leaders on monthly forecasting and the annual budgeting process
Compliance & Process Management

Calculate and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns

Stay current on sales tax regulations and accounting best practices

Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures

Recommend and implement process improvements when appropriate
Team Leadership

Cross-train across all accounting functions and support the onboarding and training of new team members

Foster collaboration and accountability throughout the accounting department

Develop solutions to operational challenges and keep leadership informed of significant issues
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 3 to 5 years’ experience

Understanding of accounting processes and GAAP principles.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to position self to move about.
- The employee frequently is required to operate and use accounting tools and equipment; and communicate with guests, employees, and management.
- The employee may need to travel (locally) to other properties occasionally.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Advanced experience working with Microsoft Excel.
- Advanced experience with SAGE.
