Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles across various domains such as literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Lead classroom activities that promote active learning, curiosity, and social interaction among children aged toddlers to preschoolers.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, milestones, and any concerns, fostering strong partnerships to support each child's growth.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain detailed documentation of child development progress and incident reports.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or classroom aides, providing guidance on teaching strategies, child development instruction, and classroom routines.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that adheres to health and safety standards, including first aid and CPR certifications.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings such as daycare centers, preschools, or private schools.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development tailored for early childhood education and preschool teaching.
- Strong background in child development instruction, including toddler care, preschool experience, and special education needs such as early intervention programs.
- Experience managing classrooms with diverse learners using behavior management techniques suited for young children.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures related to early childhood assessment tools.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with parents, colleagues, and community partners about child welfare and educational progress.
- Prior experience teaching physical education or incorporating movement-based activities into daily routines is preferred.
