Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Painter Helper to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will assist experienced painters in preparing surfaces, handling tools, and applying paint and coatings across various projects. Duties
- Assist with surface preparation including cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Support the application of paint, stain, and coatings using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless and conventional sprayers), and other hand or power tools
- Handle ladder use safely to access high or hard-to-reach areas during painting and maintenance tasks (not often)
- Follow all safety regulations including proper use of respiratory protection, PPE (personal protective equipment), and adherence to safety protocols during all tasks
Experience
- Prior experience in construction painting or related trades such as carpentry, plastering, or restoration is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless systems), brushes, rollers, and scaffolding setup is highly desirable
- Knowledge of safety regulations specific to construction sites including fall protection, respiratory safety, and hazard awareness is essential
- Basic math skills for measuring surfaces and calculating paint quantities are necessary for accurate work planning
- Experience with industrial painting techniques such as coating applications on large structures or masonry surfaces is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively on construction sites with a focus on quality craftsmanship and safety compliance
