Our Communications Division is actively seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in installation, troubleshooting, and service of fire alarm systems in commercial and industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, program, test, inspect, and service fire alarm systems
- Installation of pathways and wire for fire alarm system devices
- Troubleshoot system faults, wiring issues, and device failures
- Read and interpret blueprints, risers, and system drawings
- Verify system compliance with local AHJ requirements and codes
- Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and customers
- Accurately document inspections, deficiencies, and service work
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally on-site
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of fire alarm installation and/or service experience (preferred)
- Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable local codes
- Experience with one or more fire alarm manufacturers (e.g., Autocall, Honeywell, Silent Knight, Notifier, Fire-Lite, Siemens, etc.)
- Ability to use multimeters, programmers, and standard hand tools
- Ability to read plans and wiring diagrams
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Transportation to and from job-sites
Working Conditions:
- Work performed on active construction sites, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities
- May require lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, kneeling, and standing for long periods
- Occasional travel to job sites may be required
