Job Description: Gardener / Landscaper - Full or Part Time position at Holdridge Home & Garden in Ledyard CT
Duties:
- We are looking for someone who has interest in plants, being outdoors, and the environment would be a plus.
- Spring Clean Up tasks include; re-edging garden beds, removal of grass and weeds from beds, prune winter die back from shrubs and perennials, trim shrubs when necessary, install a fresh coating of mulch.
- Installation duties include; loading & off loading of plants, properly plant new plant material, transplant existing perennials and shrubs, create new garden edge, re-grade garden surface, and install mulch.
- Maintenance work includes; removal of weeds, grass, and invasive plants from garden areas, prune spent blooms on perennials, roses, annuals, and shrubs, hedge trimming of shrubs and large hedges, maintain planters, and annuals in gardens.
- Other tasks; water plant material in our nursery, prune spent blooms, load plant material and other heavy items for customers.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Must enjoy working outside, with plants, and well with others.
- Prior work experience in the landscape or nursery field a plus.
- We are willing to train the right applicant.
- Work 20-40hrs. Monday—Friday from 8am-5pm.
- Most be prepared for work with lunch, water, and all needs for the day.
Full time/Seasonal:
- Pay: $15-$20 based upon experience
License/Certification:
- Valid CT Driver’s License (required)
