Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, dump trucks, water trucks, tankers, and horizontal drilling equipment to execute excavation, grading, paving, utility installation, and site development tasks.
- Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections on all construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
- Perform construction utility work such as utility locating and trenching to support infrastructure installation projects.
- Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures diligently to maintain a safe work environment for all team members.
- Assist with construction site preparation by performing grading and land leveling activities using appropriate machinery.
- Operate commercial trucks for transporting materials or equipment around the job site or between locations.
- Collaborate with team members to execute complex tasks like horizontal drilling and other specialized construction operations efficiently.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, dozers (Caterpillar preferred), loaders, graders, backhoes, dump trucks, water trucks, tankers, and horizontal drilling equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial truck driving and construction utility transport.
- Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and adherence to all safety regulations on-site.
- Construction site experience with familiarity in excavation, grading, paving, utility work, and general construction operations.
- Ability to perform precise equipment operation including loader operation, grader operation, dozer operation, and excavator handling.
- Skilled in construction utility work such as utility locating and trenching for infrastructure projects.
- Excellent understanding of equipment safety procedures and maintenance protocols to ensure safe operations at all times.
