Duties
- Perform lawn care activities such as mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, and overseeding to promote healthy turf growth.
- Conduct landscape maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, trimming trees and shrubs, and installing new landscaping features.
- Operate hand tools (e.g., shovels, rakes) and power tools (e.g., trimmers, blowers) safely and efficiently for various groundskeeping tasks.
- Use machinery such as excavators for site preparation or hardscape installation projects.
- Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting for leaks or malfunctions and performing repairs as needed to ensure proper watering schedules.
- Assist with snow plowing during winter months to keep pathways clear and safe for visitors or residents.
- Support construction projects involving hardscape features like patios or walkways by preparing sites and installing materials with precision.
- Conduct tree care activities including trimming, pruning, and health assessments to promote safety and growth.
- Engage in gardening tasks such as soil preparation, planting flowers or shrubs, and mulching to enhance landscape aesthetics.
- Perform routine maintenance on landscaping equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety standards are met.
Experience
- Prior experience in landscape maintenance or gardening preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
- Mechanical knowledge related to operating landscaping machinery such as excavators or snow plows is advantageous.
- Familiarity with lawn care techniques including mowing, fertilizing, aeration, and pest control.
- Knowledge of horticulture principles to support plant health and landscape design objectives.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools safely in outdoor environments.
- Understanding of irrigation systems installation and repair processes.
- Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety protocols.
