Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Part-time Assistant Property Manager to join our multifamily housing team. In this vital role, you will support the overall management and operation of residential communities, ensuring exceptional resident satisfaction and property performance. Your energetic approach will help foster a welcoming environment for residents while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations, including LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), Section 8, and Fair Housing laws. Duties
- Assist in leasing activities, including property tours, application processing, and lease signing, with a focus on upselling available units and amenities
- Support rent collection processes, including data entry, filing of financial documents, and managing delinquency follow-up
- Coordinate property maintenance requests and work closely with facilities management teams to ensure timely resolution of issues
- Maintain accurate records using Yardi or OneSite property management software, including tenant files, lease agreements, and legal documentation
- Ensure compliance with all legal administrative requirements such as landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, and LIHTC guidelines
- Support the screening process for prospective residents by conducting background checks and verifying income documentation for Section 8 or other subsidized programs
- Handle customer service inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy, fostering positive relationships with residents and prospects
- Assist in organizing community events and resident engagement initiatives to promote a vibrant living environment
- Support conflict management efforts by mediating resident concerns and escalating issues appropriately to property managers when necessary
Skills
- Strong knowledge of property management systems such as Yardi or OneSite, with experience in data entry and record keeping
- Familiarity with LIHTC programs, Section 8 housing regulations, Fair Housing laws, and landlord-tenant law to ensure compliance
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and conflict resolution abilities
- Proven ability in property leasing, upselling amenities or units, and negotiation of contracts or renewals
- Experience in legal administrative tasks related to real estate or property management environments
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently within an office setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of facilities management practices including basic property maintenance coordination and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) use
- Strong organizational skills for filing, record keeping, and supporting legal documentation processes
- Effective communication skills for working collaboratively with team members, residents, vendors, and contractors
