What You'll Do
As a CDL Instructor, you'll help students build the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to earn their Class A CDL and begin successful driving careers.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering hands-on CDL training in:
- Pre-trip inspections
- Basic vehicle control skills
- Road driving
- Teaching safe and professional driving practices on both manual and automatic transmission vehicles
- Providing clear instruction and constructive feedback to adult learners
- Supporting customized training programs for business and fleet clients
- Maintaining training equipment and vehicles to company standards
- Promoting a positive learning environment focused on safety, professionalism, and student success
- Participating in instructor development and ongoing training opportunities
Training may occur during daytime or evening hours and in various weather, road, and traffic conditions.
Qualifications
Required
- Unrestricted Class A CDL
- Minimum 3 years of verifiable Class A driving experience within the last 10 years
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Ability to pass DOT drug screening and background check
- Current DOT Medical Card (or ability to obtain prior to hire)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, professional, and safety-focused attitude
Preferred
- Previous training, coaching, or teaching experience
- Experience operating both manual and automatic transmission commercial vehicles
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, growing organization
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move in and around training vehicles for 12+ hour shifts
- Ability to safely demonstrate vehicle inspections and operating procedures
- Ability to perform light maintenance and cleaning duties
Schedule Expectations
Our training operations run seven days per week.
- Weekend availability is required
- Most holidays are worked, with typical exceptions including Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and Independence Day
- Instructors may occasionally be scheduled at our Boise campus to support training needs and maintain full-time hours
- Full-time schedule typically exceeds 40 hours per week

Work Location
This position is primarily based in person at our Meridian, Idaho campus.
