Salary Range: $17.48 – $17.58 per hour
Reports To: Cook and Dietary Supervisor
The Dietary Aide assists in the daily operation of the Dietary Department. Assignments are determined based on the needs and activity of each shift. This position supports meal service, sanitation, and overall kitchen operations to ensure a clean, safe, and pleasant dining experience for residents.
Learn and perform food service routines within a short period of time
Set up and prepare meal trays
Strip returned trays and wash dishes
Assist with serving meals to residents
Operate the dishwashing machine
Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwasher at the beginning of each shift
Monitor water temperatures during dishwashing cycles
Prepare nourishments and snacks
Sweep and mop kitchen and dietary areas
Clean work surfaces, refrigerators, and equipment
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen at all times
Carry out trash and garbage
Put groceries away in a safe, orderly, and sanitary manner
Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary at the end of each shift
Assist the Cook or Dietary Supervisor as needed
Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff
Work cooperatively and harmoniously with staff in all departments
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
