The City of Fayetteville is currently recruiting for an Equipment Operator I in our Transit department to construction and maintenance equipment in support of a variety of transit vehicles and equipment activities including mowing, loading and related operations; and to perform other transit operations.
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience:
Six months of experience involving the skilled operation of light construction and maintenance equipment in parks, cemeteries, horticulture environments, street repair/maintenance, transit operations or related field.
Training:
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
LICENSING & CERTIFICATIONS
Required:
Possession of an appropriate valid driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability.
Preferred:
Safety course completion; Defensive Driving course completion; Biohazard course completion; Flagger certification; Pesticide Applicator license.
From the time of closing, the selection process is anticipated to last approximately 4 - 6 weeks. The process will consist of a panel interview with the selected candidate being subject to a pre-employment drug screen, background check and driving history check.
