TCT Role Overview
As a Traffic Control Technician, you will lead traffic control operations on active job sites, ensuring the safety of crews and the traveling public. This is a hands‑on, safety‑critical role requiring strong knowledge of traffic control standards and field leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and manage traffic control zones, including road closures and lane shifts
- Perform two‑way flagging and oversee safe vehicle flow
- Deploy, maintain, and remove traffic control devices (cones, signs, barricades)
- Follow and enforce traffic control plans and MUTCD standards
- Load, unload, and transport traffic control equipment
- Complete required reports and documentation
Required Qualifications (TCT‑Focused)
- ✅ Active Traffic Control Technician (TCT) Certification – Required
- Valid driver’s license (minimum 3 years) with a clean motor vehicle record
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Available for nights, weekends, and on‑call schedules
- Able to lift 50 lbs and stand on your feet for 6–12 hours per day
- Strong communication skills for safety coordination
- Able to pass a drug screen (excluding THC marijuana testing)
- Must be 18 years or older
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
