PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Salary for this position is $96,800-$121,000/Annually.

The Data Analytics Supervisor is responsible for leading data governance, analytics, and performance measurement initiatives across Aurora Fire Rescue. This position supports operational and strategic decision-making through advanced analytics, reporting, and predictive modeling.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze fire, EMS, and emergency response data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and performance metrics (e.g., response times, service demand, unit reliability)
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Fire Operations, EMS, Emergency Management, Members Services, Community Risk Reduction, and City departments
Collect, analyze, and present data; cross compare and analyze data from Community Operations, Members Services, Community Risk Reduction, and Business Services and present predictive and causative analytics, providing an understanding of department-wide data

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Public Administration, or a related field
At least five (5) years of experience in data analysis, data science, business intelligence, or a closely related field, including three (3) years of supervisory
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of SQL, Python, R, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders including employees, leadership, community members, and elected officials
Licenses and Certifications Required:
Ability to communicate with employees, contractors, and residents in field environments, with or without reasonable accommodation
Occasional off-site work may occur in a noisy environment, with exposure to dust, chemicals, odors, fumes, and all types of weather conditions
Uses standard office equipment including personal computer and common office software such as email, internet, Word, Excel
This position may require the incumbent to occasionally use personal equipment (e.g. vehicle, cell phone, tools, etc.) in the course of their employment
The city of Aurora will implement furlough days (unpaid days off) for most employees in 2026. The scheduled furlough dates are January 16, April 10, July 2, and December 24.
