The Transportation Construction Superintendent will report to the District 1 Heavy Maintenance Headquarters. This position assists the Transportation Engineer in supervising and coordinating construction projects of a highway district maintenance program. Performs supervisory work coordinating and overseeing the activities of technical, paraprofessional, or skilled trades employees in an established unit at the district level. Position may manage other supervisory employees and will oversee several work crews involved in highway maintenance. Responsible for organizing and assigning work to crews, estimating and tracking project expenses, adhering to budgetary restrictions, procuring and assigning required equipment. Reviews work to ensure unit objectives are met. Work may be performed in inclement weather and around heavy moving equipment. Performs related work as required.
