Position Details:
- Position: Adult Education Instructor
- Reports to: Director of Adult Education
- Location: Henderson
- Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week for 44 weeks)
- Compensation: Competitive, based on experience and educational background following WKEC AE’s certified salary schedule
What You’ll Do:
As an Adult Education Instructor, you will play a key role in opening doors to brighter futures! Your classroom will empower students through:
- Literacy instruction, GED® preparation, and basic skills education
- English language acquisition and civics education
- Workforce readiness and career pathway development
- Digital literacy and technology skill-building
You’ll create interactive, meaningful learning experiences that are directly tied to students’ career goals — ensuring education is not just informative, but transformative.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction aligned to College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS)
- Actively participate in ongoing professional learning with a growth mindset
- Integrate research-based practices and emerging technology into daily instruction
- Use diagnostic and placement testing to tailor and enhance student learning
- Customize and deliver workforce-focused curricula aligned with students’ career pathways
- Provide continuous, data-driven feedback and adjust instruction based on student progress
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative curriculum materials
- Utilize KYAE Lesson Plans, HyperDoc Lesson Plans, and TABE 13/14 and GED®-aligned resources
- Plan and deliver lessons using a "liquid syllabus" approach for maximum flexibility and engagement
- Support adult learners in building not just academic skills but confidence, resilience, and career readiness
- Carry out additional duties as assigned to support student and program success
Who We're Looking For:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education or a related content field
- Demonstrates strong skills in reading and math (must score within NRS Level 6 on the TABE 13/14 A test)
- Knowledge of College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS) preferred
- Strong technology skills and comfort with digital tools
- Experience working with adult learners or non-traditional students is a big plus!
