Position Title: Residential Construction Technician
Position Summary:
Assist2Build, Inc. is seeking a dependable and skilled Residential Construction Technician to support residential construction, repair, replacement, and closeout activities. This position is ideal for someone with a strong general construction background who is comfortable performing a variety of hands-on tasks in the field, including carpentry, drywall repairs, trim work, door and window adjustments, punch list completion, minor maintenance, and general jobsite support.
The Residential Construction Technician will work closely with project managers, field supervisors, subcontractors, vendors, and homeowners to help ensure work is completed safely, professionally, and in accordance with company standards, program requirements, and applicable codes.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform general residential construction and repair tasks, including carpentry, trim, drywall patching, minor framing repairs, door and window adjustments, cabinet repairs, flooring touch-ups, siding repairs, and other miscellaneous field work.
Complete punch list items and warranty-related repairs in a timely and professional manner.
Assist with jobsite preparation, material handling, debris removal, and general site cleanup.
Inspect completed work for quality, safety, and compliance with company expectations.
Support project closeout by addressing minor deficiencies, homeowner concerns, and final repair items.
Coordinate with project managers and field supervisors regarding daily assignments, jobsite needs, material requirements, and completion status.
Communicate professionally with homeowners, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and internal team members.
Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and materials in a clean, safe, and organized manner.
Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and jobsite safety requirements.
Document completed work through photos, notes, and updates as required.
Assist with emergency or priority field tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in residential construction, remodeling, maintenance, or a related skilled trades role preferred.
General knowledge of residential construction practices, materials, tools, and repair methods.
Ability to perform a variety of trade-related tasks with minimal supervision.
Basic carpentry skills strongly preferred.
Experience with drywall repairs, trim work, doors, cabinets, flooring, siding, and general punch list work preferred.
Ability to read basic scopes of work, work orders, drawings, or construction notes.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with homeowners and team members.
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.
Must be dependable, punctual, organized, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to lift materials, climb ladders, work in various weather conditions, and perform physical construction-related tasks.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working in residential disaster recovery, reconstruction, rehabilitation, or repair programs.
Experience with manufactured housing, mobile homes, or modular housing.
Basic knowledge of permitting, inspections, code compliance, and construction closeout processes.
Ability to troubleshoot minor field issues and recommend practical solutions.
Experience operating common construction tools and equipment.
Work Environment:
This is a field-based position that requires travel to residential jobsites. Work may include occupied homes, active construction sites, manufactured housing units, and properties undergoing repair, reconstruction, or replacement. The position may require work in varying weather conditions and around active construction activities.
