Exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer interested in being a part of starting up brownfield operations in the Metals industry supporting a growing aerospace market. Located in Lafayette Indiana, the Electrical Engineer supports extrusion manufacturing opeartions by improvising electrical and control system reliability, leading capital projects, driving asfety and sustainability initiatives, and providing hands-on technical support in a high-performance aerospace manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining and enhancing electrical, automation, and control systems that are critical to plant operations and equipment performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Knowledge toward combustion controls
- Supporting and improving electrical, controls, and automation systems for extrusion production equipment
- Leading electrical equipment upgrades, control system modernizations, installations, and facility expansion projects
- Developing and maintaining preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for electrical assets
- Managing CapEx budgets, project schedules, and implementation activities
- Coordinating work with maintenance personnel, contractors, OEMs, and vendors
- Troubleshooting electrical, PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, motion control, and instrumentation issues
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, reliability, productivity, and energy efficiency
- Collaborating with production, maintenance, quality, and safety teams to achieve operational goals
- Supporting electrical system design, documentation, and standards development
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, safety requirements, and company standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- 3+ years of manufacturing, industrial, or controls engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of industrial pwoer systems, motor controls, PLCs, and automation equipment
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servos, and industrial networks
- Combustion controls
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings
- Experience managing capital projects from concept through commissioning
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing, aluminum extrusion, metals manufacturing, or other heavy industrial environments preferred
- Must be authorized to work in the US (greencard or US citizen)
