About LV1
LV1 Security & Technology is a Louisiana-based security and low-voltage company being built around quality, documentation, professionalism, and long-term growth.
We are looking for an experienced Louisiana alarm/security professional to help oversee licensed security work as the company launches and grows.
This is not an informal license-use arrangement. This is a real supervisory role for someone who understands security systems, installation quality, compliance, documentation, and customer trust.
This may be a good fit for a semi-retired alarm/security professional, former owner, senior technician, operations manager, or experienced licensed technician who wants to stay involved in the trade in a flexible supervisory capacity.
Position Overview
The Security Supervisor will help oversee LV1’s licensed security work, including quote review, design review, installation planning, quality control, field inspections, documentation, and technician guidance.
The ideal candidate has Louisiana LSPP security experience and understands intrusion systems, alarm panels, sensors, communicators, monitoring setup, customer expectations, and proper installation practices.
Responsibilities
- Review security system quotes before they are sent to customers.
- Review equipment selections, device layouts, wiring plans, panel locations, communication methods, and installation scope.
- Help create LV1’s security installation standards, quality control checklists, commissioning checklists, and closeout procedures.
- Provide technical guidance before and during installations.
- Inspect completed work in person when needed.
- Review job photos, documentation, programming notes, and final closeout records.
- Help ensure security work is performed professionally, safely, and in compliance with Louisiana requirements.
- Assist with technician training as LV1 grows.
- Maintain accurate time records and supervision documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Must be eligible to serve as LV1 Security & Technology’s Louisiana LSPP Security Supervisor / Qualifier.
- Current or previous Louisiana LSPP Security licensing is strongly preferred.
- If not currently or previously licensed, must have at least 3 years of documented professional experience in electronic security/alarm systems within the past 4 years and otherwise be able to meet Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal qualifier requirements.
- Must have strong professional experience with intrusion alarm systems and electronic security systems.
- Must be able to work and document at least 32 hours per week for LV1 while serving as the qualifier.
- Must not currently serve as the qualifier for another LSPP firm.
- Must be comfortable reviewing quotes, system designs, equipment selections, installation plans, job photos, documentation, and completed work.
- Must understand proper security-system installation, troubleshooting, commissioning, documentation, and quality-control practices.
- Must be reliable, professional, and willing to help develop LV1’s installation standards and technician procedures as the company grows.
- Must be able to satisfy applicable Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal licensing, training, background-check, and continuing-education requirements.
- Must disclose any employment restriction, non-compete, moonlighting policy, or other conflict that could interfere with this role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous firm qualifier experience.
- Former alarm company owner or manager.
- Experience with Qolsys, DSC, Resideo/Honeywell, Alarm.com, Total Connect, DMP, Napco, 2GIG, access control, CCTV, or structured cabling.
- Experience supervising technicians or reviewing other installers’ work.
- Semi-retired or interested in a long-term supervisory/advisory role.
Compensation
Compensation will be discussed privately with qualified candidates.
The intended structure may include W-2 hourly compensation, pay increases as LV1 grows, job-based performance bonus opportunities, and potential long-term equity or phantom equity opportunity for the right person.
All compensation terms will be documented in writing.
Additional Notes
This role may work for someone who is currently employed elsewhere, as long as there are no conflicts, the candidate is not qualifying another firm, and the required LV1 work can be performed and documented outside of any other employer’s paid time.
All conversations will be handled privately and professionally.
