Job Summary
The objective of the Independent Contractor – Automotive Technician-Inspector is to travel to repair facilities in your area to verify mechanical failures.
Duties
- Travel to repair facilities in your area to verify mechanical failures.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance
- Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years hands on automotive repair experience, ASE or equivalent Manufacturer Certifications.
- Hands-on experience operating standard passenger cars and familiarity with their mechanical systems
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and automotive diagnostic equipment effectively
- Experience performing vehicle inspections is highly desirable
Computer and Phone System Requirements:
- Smartphone with ability to receive text messages and monitor email.
- Computer with internet access.
- Experience with web-based applications a plus.
Working Conditions / Physical & Mental Demands:
- The physical demands described here are representative and must be met by the independent contractor to successfully perform this job.
- 100% travel is required within designated working territory based on the location of assignments received.Normal office or field claims environment.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle for up to 8 hours daily, repeatedly entering and exiting the vehicle. Must be able to make physical inspections of auto loss sites.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather.
Skills & Requirements/Licensure:
- Ability to take high-quality photos and video, valid driver's license and some basic tools required.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
