Position Summary
Solstice Kitchen + Cocktails is seeking a welcoming, dependable, and energetic Breakfast Host/Busser to support our daily breakfast buffet. This position creates a positive first and last impression by greeting and seating guests, managing the dining-room flow, clearing and resetting tables, and helping maintain a clean, organized, and inviting restaurant.
Essential Responsibilities
- Arrive on time and prepared for a 6:00 AM shift.
- Complete all opening duties before breakfast service begins.
- Ensure the host stand, entrance, menus, dining room, and waiting areas are clean and organized.
- Welcome every guest with a warm, professional greeting.
- Ask guests for their room number or required breakfast information according to hotel procedures.
- Manage the seating rotation fairly and communicate table assignments to servers.
- Provide accurate wait-time estimates and maintain an organized waiting list when necessary.
- Escort guests to their tables, present menus, and explain the breakfast buffet.
- Accommodate seating preferences and communicate special requests or celebrations to the service team.
- Answer basic questions about the restaurant, hotel, buffet, and operating hours.
- Answer telephone calls professionally and assist with guest inquiries.
- Monitor the dining room and communicate open, occupied, and dirty table status.
- Clear plates, glassware, silverware, and other items promptly and safely.
- Clean, sanitize, and reset tables according to restaurant standards.
- Refill water and assist servers with coffee, beverages, and other guest needs when requested.
- Keep service stations stocked with silverware, napkins, glassware, and other supplies.
- Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the buffet area.
- Sweep floors, address spills immediately, and keep guest pathways clear.
- Bring used dishes to the appropriate dishwashing area and properly separate items.
- Assist servers and culinary team members during busy periods.
- Thank departing guests and invite them to return.
- Complete all assigned side work and closing duties before leaving.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by restaurant leadership.
Qualifications
- Previous host, busser, restaurant, hotel, or guest-service experience is preferred.
- Must be dependable and comfortable working early-morning shifts.
- Friendly, professional, and confident when communicating with guests.
- Ability to remain organized and composed during busy service periods.
- Strong teamwork, time-management, and communication skills.
- Ability to follow seating rotations and restaurant procedures accurately.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and carry bus tubs, dishes, glassware, and restaurant supplies.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive cleaning and resetting tasks.
- Ability to move quickly and safely through a busy dining room.

Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour
