American Sign Language (ASL) Educational Interpreter
2026–2027 School Year
Fox Interpreting, Inc. is seeking Educational ASL Interpreters for immediate and anticipated school district assignments throughout the 2026–2027 school year. We partner with school districts throughout California's Central Valley to provide high-quality interpreting services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.

Position Summary
The Educational Interpreter provides communication access for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in classroom and school-related settings. Interpreters work as part of the educational team to support student success while maintaining professional standards, confidentiality, and ethical interpreting practices.
Primary assignments for this position are anticipated to be within K–12 educational settings during the 2026–2027 school year. Additional interpreting opportunities may be available based on organizational and client needs.
Interpreted content and school-related communication may include:
- Classroom lectures and instruction
- Small-group and one-on-one educational activities
- School assemblies, presentations, and special events
- Field trips and extracurricular activities
- IEP meetings and student support services
- Parent-teacher conferences
- Daily interactions among students, teachers, staff, and families
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- EIPA score of 4.0 or higher
- RID certification (NIC or equivalent)
- Educational interpreting experience
- Strong knowledge of Deaf culture and educational interpreting practices
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, students, and families
- Ability to pass all district-required background clearances
*Interpreters with strong educational interpreting skills who are actively pursuing certification and demonstrate competency through Fox Interpreting's assessment process will be considered.
Compensation
Compensation is based on qualifications, certifications, experience, and assignment requirements. Current educational interpreter pay ranges from $32.00–$52.00 per hour for qualified candidates.
