Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, programming, and optimizing CNC machining processes to produce high-precision metal components. Your expertise in CNC G-code programming, CAM software, and mechanical blueprint interpretation will drive efficiency and quality in our production operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing projects while working with state-of-the-art machinery and tooling. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about precision machining, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities
- Develop and write CNC programs for milling machines, lathes, and grinders using G-code, M-code, and CAM software such as SolidWorks and other CAD tools
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate machining processes
- Set up CNC machines including machine calibration, tooling selection, and fixture installation to ensure optimal operation
- Perform machine setup, calibration, and manual machining as needed to prepare for production runs
- Conduct precision measurement using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools for quality control
- Monitor machining operations for quality assurance; perform CNC quality inspections and adjust programs or setups as necessary
- Troubleshoot machining issues promptly to minimize downtime and maximize productivity
- Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, measurements, and inspection reports in compliance with manufacturing standards
- Collaborate with engineering teams on tooling design improvements using CAD software like SolidWorks or CAD tools to enhance machining efficiency
Experience
- Proven experience as a CNC Programmer or Machinist with a strong background in CNC G-code programming on Fanuc or similar controllers
- Extensive knowledge of CNC machining processes including milling, turning on CNC lathe machines, grinding, and manual machining techniques
- Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting GD&T specifications accurately
- Familiarity with CAM programming software such as Mastercam or similar platforms; experience with SolidWorks is highly desirable
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to metalworking tools, tooling setup, machine calibration, and measurement instruments like micrometers and bore gauges
- Ability to operate various machining tools including lathes, mills, grinders, hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments effectively
- Basic math skills for calculations related to measurements, tolerances, feed rates, speeds, and program adjustments
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflows and reduce waste
Join us in shaping the future of precision manufacturing! We’re dedicated to fostering a dynamic environment where your skills can flourish while contributing to innovative projects that make a real impact.
