It's 5:40 on a Thursday. Twelve-story medical office building.
The booster pump is short-cycling. Pressure is falling on floors 9 through 12. Two surgical suites can't lose water before 7 a.m., and you can't shut the riser down to find out why.
If you already know your first three moves, keep reading. If you don't, this isn't your job — and we'd rather say so now.
COMMERCIAL ONLY
Pacific Standard Plumbing is a C-36 commercial service and repair contractor in San Diego County. Medical office, labs, hotels, schools, industrial, and managed commercial property.
No tract homes. No new construction. No attics. No crawl spaces.
If your last five years were water heater swaps and kitchen re-pipes, you're a good plumber — this still isn't your job.
THE WORK
- Booster pump systems and building water pressure
- Backflow prevention — test, repair, rebuild
- Commercial water heating — boilers, tankless, storage, recirculation, mixing valves
- Sewer ejector pumps and lift stations
- Grease interceptors and sand/oil separators
- Large-diameter drains — 4" to 8" jetting, camera and locating, cast iron
- Shutdowns, riser isolation, and repairs in occupied space
WHAT SEPARATES THE PEOPLE WE HIRE
Anyone can turn a wrench in an empty building. We need someone who works in an occupied one without creating a second problem.
- Plan a shutdown across multiple tenants — and communicate it before, not after
- Work with a chief engineer as a peer, not a vendor waiting for direction
- Know what's behind the wall before the saw comes out
- Follow lock-out/tag-out, hot work permits, and confined space rules unprompted
- Leave the space the way a building engineer would want it left
- Call it in early when a job turns, instead of pushing through and hoping
Nobody here gets punished for calling for help. People get remembered for not calling.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 5+ years commercial service and repair — not new construction, not residential
- Valid CA license, clean driving record
- Judgment when the building doesn't match the drawings
- Team-first. Ego stays at the door.
PAY AND BENEFITS
- $36.50–$46.50hr based on commercial experience
- Take-home truck, stocked for commercial. You're not starting your day at the supply house.
- Medical, dental, vision, life
- 401(k) with 7% match — 140% on the first 5%
- Code updates, and continuing education paid in full
HOW WE RUN
No sales quotas. No upsell scripts, no commission on parts. Diagnose it, tell the truth, fix it right.
Routes that respect your day. San Diego County only. We're not sending you Chula Vista to Oceanside and back.
A shop that answers. Tough job at 4 p.m.? Call it in. We send help. No judgment, no politics.
Room to build. We're growing this division, and you'll have a real voice in how it runs — trucks, standards, and how we train the guys behind you.
ABOUT US
We're a San Diego commercial service contractor built on one idea: property managers and facilities directors deserve a plumber who shows up and actually solves it. We work for the buildings, not for a franchise's revenue-per-ticket target.
CSLB #1115983. Shop in Santee. We respond to every application.
