Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Inventory Control Specialist to join our warehouse team. In this dual-focus role, you will be the gatekeeper of our inventory. You will manage the physical flow of incoming and outgoing shipments while simultaneously driving inventory accuracy through daily cycle counting and reconciliation.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong computer/WMS (Warehouse Management System) skills, and has a keen eye for spotting discrepancies before they become problems.
Shipping and Receiving
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to load and unload freight trucks.
- Check incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders for accuracy, quantity, and damage; document and report any discrepancies immediately.
- Accurately log received goods into the inventory/WMS system and route materials to their correct storage locations.
- Pick, pack, weigh, label, and stage outbound shipments in compliance with carrier requirements and customer specifications (e.g., UPS, FedEx, LTL).
- Prepare and maintain shipping documents, including Bills of Lading (BOL), packing lists, and international customs paperwork if required.
Cycle Counting & Inventory Control
· Execute scheduled daily and weekly cycle counts of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods according to the inventory plan.
· Research and resolve inventory variances by auditing transaction histories, receiving logs, and shipping records.
· Ensure all inventory is stored in its designated location and update the system when items are moved.
· Partner with the Warehouse Manager to identify reasons for inventory inaccuracies (e.g., mislabeling, system lag) and suggest process improvements.
· Track and properly process damaged or obsolete inventory according to company policy.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in a warehouse shipping/receiving role, with at least 1 year dedicated to inventory control, cycle counting, or auditing.
- Proven experience operating a forklift (Sit-down, Stand-up, or Reach truck); valid OSHA certification is preferred.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), or inventory modules.
- Experience using RF barcode scanners.
- A strong comprehension of 5S or Lean manufacturing principles.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
This is an on-site position. The physical requirements of the job in an work environment, including, but not limited to the following: prolonged sitting while operating computer and office equipment, good manual dexterity, the ability to lift and carry parts weighing up to 50 pounds, and the ability to stand for extended periods, proficiency with hand tools and equipment. Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
