The Lift Station Mechanic—Trainee is responsible for assisting a skilled mechanic working in the operation, maintenance and repair of sewage lift stations and equipment, reclaimed water augmentation stations, regional lift stations, water pumping stations and electrical. This position assists the Lift Station Mechanic to ensuring that the City's lift stations remain operational. Duties include, but are not limited to, operating various pieces of equipment such as bypass pumps, boon trucks, and generators; assisting with the rebuilding of various types of pumps used for lift stations; maintaining the grounds where lift stations are located; inspecting lift stations and their associated equipment; and providing electrical/mechanical assistance as needed. Knowledge of control panels and interpreting wiring diagrams is a plus!
