Looking for a mentor / big-brother-type, enthusiastic, outgoing bright college student or youngish adult for a very smart and friendly, but unstructured 16-year old.
Given his interests, being a STEM major and strong academics is a big plus. As is being athletic. Please be okay with going outside unless the weather is super horrible.
Considering flexible but regular hours once a week or biweekly. Could be more for the right person but want to start out this way
Please have a clean driving record and within 15-20 min from Merrick, Long Island. Closer is better.
The goal is to be motivational towards keeping him on track with his goals as well as providing a friendly genuine positive interactive social outlet. Sense of humor always a plus.
Interests include meteorology , tech, Sci-fi, (anything StarWars), dogs, history, taking walks, music (very talented and loves music). We are trying to detox him from his devices so please do not apply if you are married to yours. Yes it’s a problem for everyone but it’s important that it has its time and place. Hopefully you have not been entirely assimilated!
Being comfortable with a small friendly dog is also important. He’s the president.
Strongly prefers a top student and or someone very focused and motivated or otherwise hard working. You should have a strong values system and spirit to you and know it.

He’s a great young man likable easygoing but definitely would benefit from a younger than mom and dad guiding hand. A super mature responsible high school senior would be considered but prefer college student or younger adult bc high schoolers can all get a little 6-7.
