Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring all special requests are noted and fulfilled
- Present menus confidently, highlight daily specials, and upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Serve food and beverages efficiently, maintaining proper food handling and sanitation standards at all times
- Manage tables effectively by bussing, resetting, and ensuring cleanliness to promote a smooth flow of service
- Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering procedures and process payments with POS systems like OpenTable or similar platforms
- Maintain thorough knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and food preparation techniques to answer guest questions confidently
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and address any guest concerns promptly
- Uphold food safety regulations and sanitation standards in all aspects of serving and food handling
- Assist with host/host duties when needed, including seating guests and managing reservations
- Support the team during busy hours by multitasking efficiently, demonstrating excellent time management skills
- Engage with guests to foster positive relations, ensuring a memorable dining experience that encourages repeat visits
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant experience, particularly in Japanese or fine dining establishments, is highly preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining genuine guest engagement
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during high-volume periods
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and bill splitting
- Experience in serving, bussing tables, or host/host roles enhances your candidacy
- Culinary or kitchen experience is advantageous for understanding food preparation processes
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment
