Job Title: CDL Driver/Warehouse Staff
Classification: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Supervisor: Store Manager, Assistant Manager & Warehouse Manager
The ideal candidate for this position will work out of the Quincy, FL and Havana, FL locations, assisting customers in loading materials when presented with an invoice, unload material upon return, and assist with the unloading of vendor vehicles when necessary. He or she must know the locations of merchandise in the warehouse and lumber yard, and provide assistance and direction to other warehouse workers when necessary.
Work activities include transporting material using company Piggy Back, 1-ton and 2-ton delivery trucks to customer locations when scheduled, and back-hauling material to warehouse from locations when necessary while obeying traffic laws and safety procedures. The candidate must maintain and organize all delivery paperwork, and deliver it to the proper personnel at the end of each delivery and work day. The candidate must also inspect delivery vehicles daily looking for anything problematic (low tire pressure, tire wear, dents, etc.) and report any abnormalities, and refuel vehicles as needed.
The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent certification, a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and be proficient at driving and parking large vehicles. He or she must be physically fit and able to lift 25 pounds comfortably, and up to 100 pounds occasionally; be dependable, hardworking and have an effective communicator with a professional and pleasant attitude to be able to give a positive customer service experience. Experience operating hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklifts is a plus.
Salary for this position will be based on a candidate’s experience, education, and qualifications. Employment will be dependent on the successful completion on a background check, credit check, and pre-employment drug test. Stone’s, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
