Overview:
We are a busy coffee shop looking for a reliable and experienced Short-Order Cook to join our team. We offer a simple, limited menu, allowing our kitchen team to focus on quality, consistency, and excellent food preparation.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and understands the importance of food safety and proper food handling.
Responsibilities
- Prepare food items according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and food-handling procedures in accordance with health regulations.
- Prepare and maintain grab-and-go items, including parfaits, salads, and other prepared foods.
- Complete daily food preparation and kitchen prep as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, including proper cleaning and sanitizing of work surfaces, equipment, and utensils.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations, particularly during busy periods.
- Assist with general café cleanliness and other tasks during slower periods.
- Follow proper knife-handling and kitchen safety procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Must be 18 or older.
- Must be reliable.
- Previous experience in food service, café, or restaurant environments required.
- Experience with food preparation techniques..
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
- Ability to safely and confidently use kitchen knives.
- Dependable, organized, and able to work well as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist with a variety of café duties as needed.
