The APPis responsible for providing health care to patients in the hospital or office setting. The APP works in consultation; cooperation and coordination through a collaborative physician. The APP functions according to the established standards and practices of medicine for Advanced Practice Nurse/Nurse Practitioner or Physicians Assistants in the State of Texas.

- BSN; MSN; ANP; or PA licensed in the state of Texas
- BLS
Required Skills; Knowledge; and Abilities
- Knowledge of medical practices; terminology; and reimbursement policies.
- Thorough knowledge of patient triage; diagnosis and evidenced-based care.
- Knowledge in overcoming barriers from diagnosis to treatment including: financial/economic; language/culture; transportation issues.
- Skill in planning; organizing; delegating; and supervising.
- Skill in evaluating the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures.
- Skill in problem solving.
- Skill in verbal and written communication.
- Skill in speaking engagements and other activities that raise awareness to diseases and disease processes.
- Ability to read; interpret and apply policies and procedures.
- Ability to set priorities among multiple requests.
- Ability to interact with patients; medical and administrative staff; and the public effectively.
